As the Bradford coordinator and a safeguarding consultant for Strengthening Faith Institutions, Javed has played a pivotal role in promoting and improving safeguarding, integration, and community cohesion among faith communities.

Javed was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Bradford for his service to the community, his “unstinting” support to the University of Bradford, and his pioneering work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the pandemic, in partnership with local faith communities and Age UK, Javed set up the Volunteering Interfaith Partnership (VIP) to help elderly, vulnerable and isolated people. He was awarded the ‘Unsung Hero’ award by Keighley MP Robbie Moore for his work.

More recently, Javed was included in the Hall of Fame by Telegraph and Argus for his commitment to promoting a positive image of Bradford, British Pakistanis and Muslims in the UK at an international level.
